"Led by a pair of mesmerizing performances from Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones, Hope Springs offers filmgoers some grown-up laughs -- and a thoughtful look at mature relationships." - rottentomatoes.com
"Director to Jones: "Just be yourself." Works for me. Master class in acting from the two leads." - Richard Roeper, richardroeper.com
"A surprise that sneaks up and moves you, "Hope Springs" has the courage of its awkwardness, and this is said admiringly in the spirit of the film, which is irony-free and unfashionably earnest." - Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal
"Yes, this is the fascinating stuff, a rare (in pop culture) look at the complex nature of the love-sex equation -- when it's too direct, when it's too vague, when it breaks down completely." - Rick Groen, Globe and Mail
"If the film doesn't really explore the pain and bitterness of this marriage, it's still leagues ahead of most such attempts." - Peter Rainer, Christian Science Monitor
"It's gratifying to see a movie that doesn't have anything to do with superheroics or the end of the world, merely ordinary heroics of the human heart." - Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
"It will make you want to go home and have sex with your spouse afterward. Or at least share a longer hug or a more passionate kiss." - Christy Lemire, Associated Press
Movie Info
Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her skeptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough - the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place. -- (C) Sony

"I really hope that people will give this imaginative little fairy tale a chance, and I can't wait to show it to my 6-year-old daughter." - Dana Stevens, Slate
"In addition to being fast, funny, and unpretentious, Brave is a happy antidote to all the recent films in which women triumph by besting men at their own macho games..." - David Edelstein, New York Magazine
"Brave offers young audiences and fairy tale fans a rousing, funny fantasy adventure with a distaff twist and surprising depth." = rottentomatoes.com
"The tone is uneven and more often morose than joyful. The pacing is slow and at times almost tedious. The end result is something that feels like it was put together from a jumble of Disney clichés tacked onto the skeleton of Beauty and the Beast." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews
"It's a subpar story that seems to exist mainly to sell a new Disney Princess in the form of wild-haired Merida." - Nancy Churnin, Dallas Morning News
"While co-directors Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman and Steve Purcell have successfully made a family action fantasy featuring a girl hero - a long-overdue revolution - the story is not as special as the princess inside it." - Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News
"We would expect this kind of overstuffed joyride from Dreamworks Animation or the folks at Fox or even Disney itself. But it's terribly ordinary for Pixar, and ordinary is no longer enough." - Ty Burr, Boston Globe
"Brave" isn't a bull's-eye, but it's close enough. - Tom Long, Detroit News
Movie Info
Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late. -- (C) Disney

"For once, Baron Cohen has a real script and a supporting cast as skilled at improv as he is. And those complementary elements make a difference." - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger
"On the laughmeter The Dictator is closer to Borat than to the misfired Bruno, which is to say it's funny for about half of its brisk 83 minutes." - Peter Rainer, Christian Science Monitor
"Most of The Dictator had me neither laughing nor shocked, but just staring at the screen in anxious is-that-all-there-is? silence." - Dana Stevens, Slate
"Of course it's offensive and tasteless. That's the point. Sometimes the jokes are excruciatingly funny." - Richard Roeper, richardroeper.com

"It's one of the year's best surprises, and so is its frequently underrated star." Rafer Guzman, Newsday
"At the very least, it is exceptional and one of the best and most original pictures to come along in 2012." - Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
"A weirdly guilty pleasure." - Stephen Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer
"Magic Mike has a conventional structure, yet a teasing question percolates beneath: If selling yourself is as much fun as this movie makes it look, what could be wrong with it?" - Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly
"The dance numbers, choreographed by Allison Faulk, are inventive and athletic, but not really erotic; Soderbergh never lets you forget that, for these men, dancing is above all a job." - Ben Sachs, Chicago Reader
"If filmmaker Soderbergh had paid as much attention to relationship dynamics as he does to dance number mechanics, this film would have gotten closer to living up to the magic in its name." - Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times

The trailers are hilariously funny and Eugene Domingo is dubbed the goddess of Philippine comedy =)

"Horrible Bosses takes a dark premise -- three buddies band together to off their bosses -- and rings it for a solid, steady stream of laughs." - Adam Graham, Detroit News
""Horrible Bosses" is funny enough to give America's embattled working folk an outlet for their frustration, and America's employer classes a bad case of nerves." - Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel
"There's an underlying, nearly universal relatability to "Horrible Bosses" that can't be denied and that screenwriters Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein use to great advantage." - Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post
"It's nasty, uneven, and far from original, but thanks to a smartly assembled cast that makes the most of a solid premise, Horrible Bosses works." - rottentomatoes.com
"For something like Horrible Bosses to sparkle, the actors have to shine... and shine they do." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews

For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers... permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. -- (C) Warner Bros

"Got a chance to preview the late coming sequel. Obviously the jokes are quite a lot similar to Mr. Bean and the original Johnny English, but Rowan did it in a cleverer way. At least it's not a Bean in suite with pistol. You may like it, if you are a true fan of Blackadder and Mr. Bean." - Ray Wong

On the surface, Marissa Cortez Wilson (Jessica Alba) has it all...married to a famous spy hunting television reporter, a new baby and intelligent twin step kids. But in reality, trying to mother Rebecca (Rowan Blanchard) and Cecil (Mason Cook), who clearly don't want her around, is her toughest challenge yet. Also, her husband, Wilbur (Joel McHale), wouldn't know a spy if he lived with one which is exactly the case - Marissa's a retired secret agent. Marissa's world is turned upside down when the maniacal Timekeeper (Jeremy Piven) threatens to take over the planet and she's called back into action by the head of OSS, home of the greatest spies and where the now-defunct Spy Kids division was created. Some teachers just don't give an F. For example, there's Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz). She's foul-mouthed, ruthless, and inappropriate. She drinks, she gets high, and she can't wait to marry her meal ticket and get out of her bogus day job. When she's dumped by her fiancé, she sets her plan in motion to win over a rich, handsome substitute (Justin Timberlake) - competing for his affections with an overly energetic colleague, Amy (Lucy Punch). When Elizabeth also finds herself fighting off the advances of a sarcastic, irreverent gym teacher (Jason Segel), the consequences of her wild and outrageous schemes give her students, her coworkers, and even herself an education like no other. -- (C) Sony Pictures

"Visuals look spectacular and action sequences take full advantage of the 3D format so you feel like you are burning rubber down winding roads at dizzying speed." - Catherine Jones, Liverpool Echo
"It is all quite jolly and fast-paced, a feast for the eyes, but there's not much for the mind or the heart." - Derek Malcolm, This is London
"Cars 2 is as visually appealing as any other Pixar production, but all that dazzle can't disguise the rusty storytelling under the hood." - rottentomatoes.com
"Pixar's first bad film relies more on merchandising opportunities than storytelling ones." - Wesley Lovell, Oscar Guy
"Cars 2 is beautifully animated but it's also frequently dull and painfully unfunny, thanks to an irritating lead character, an overstuffed script, several poorly conceived jokes and a plot that's probably too complicated for its target audience." - Matthew Turner, ViewLondon
"Although it would be unfair to label Cars 2 as unwatchable, it is surprisingly tedious in parts and not as satisfying as one might expect." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews
"Someone must like Mater, who's already had his own spinoff TV show. Just as someone must like Larry the Cable Guy, who voices him. But that someone isn't me, and if it isn't you, you're in for one very long matinee." - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger

Reviews
"A spectacular lead performance and strong direction keep the film thoroughly watchable and generally entertaining, but the total package lacks something vital. " - Philbert Ortiz Dy, clickthecity.com
"Ang Babae sa Septic Tank is definitely one of the wittiest comedies I’ve ever seen. What may otherwise come out as a boring subject has been turned into a laugh out loud masterpiece. They make use of every possible trick in the book to make the audience laugh. There are the snappy lines and funny quips, the hilarious montages of scenes, the utilization of music, quirky actors and over-the-top acting, and just to keep things funny for sure, there’s a bit of slapstick in the end too." - Ariane Astorga, candidheadlines.wordpress.com
"All in all, Babae sa Septic Tank is a likeable movie (hello, they have Eugene Domingo in it, what’s not to like about her?). If you’re one big Indie Film fan, an aspiring film maker,a Kean Cipriano fangirl and a Eugene Domingo fan, this movie is for you! Relate na relate. It’s a smart film, definitely worth your 150P.' - mynosebleed.com

"Too cute for its own good, Larry Crowne is nonetheless hard to dislike." - Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer
"As obvious and predictable as this story might be, it still works - in large part because we care about the human beings inhabiting this motion picture." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews
"This is film as comfort food, and even if it has very little nutritional value, its pleasantly bland texture will help keep you occupied until your next job interview or layoff notice." - Tom Long, Detroit News
"Next semester, the stars should drop Speech 217 and enroll in Chemistry 101 -- they dearly need some." - Rick Groen, Globe and Mail
"Despite the relaxed, easy chemistry of stars Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, Larry Crowne is surprisingly bland and conventional." - rottentomatoes.com
"It's about as close to real comedy as a cup of milky tea is to a real meal." - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger
"You wonder who thought any of this was funny." - John Anderson, Wall Street Journal
"Larry Crowne is more than a missed opportunity. It's alarmingly, depressingly out of touch." - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
"Neither the relationship of the two leads, nor any encounter between any of the film's other humans, seems to proceed according to the emotional or sociological customs of our culture." - Dana Stevens, Slate
"Even if you wander into this congealed mess with nothing more demanding in mind than to spend a little time with two charming favorites, do not expect Forrest Gump or Pretty Woman." - Rex Reed, New York Observer
"Larry Crowne" has Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and a good premise and a colorful supporting cast, but what it doesn't have is a reason for existing." - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"Movie stars may be less valued than they used to be, but it's still puzzling to see Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts stuck in a romantic comedy as flat-footed and tone deaf as Larry Crowne." - Justin Chang, Variety

"Bridesmaids" is a female version of "The Hangover"--from the coarse language to the cringe-inducing grossout gags to the Vegas road trip that goes horribly wrong." - Richard Roeper, richardroeper.com
"That rarest of treats: an R-rated romantic comedy from the Venus point of view." - Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times
"The warring impulses within Wiig set a wonderfully skittish tone for the painfully hilarious new movie Bridesmaids, a screwy tale of female friendship and wedding planning from hell." - Ella Taylor, NPR
"A marriage of genuine characters, gross out gags, and pathos, Bridesmaids is a female-driven comedy that refuses to be boxed in as Kristen Wiig emerges as a real star." - rottentomatoes.com
"The only question is: Will Kristen Wiig ever be this good again? The answer is, let's hope so. Bridesmaids rocks. Hopefully, a movie star is born." - Tom Long, Detroit News
"It goes pretty much as expected, but it does seem earned, in part because the writing is so sharp." - Glenn Kenny, MSN Movies
"The brilliant Saturday Night Live player Kristen Wiig finally gets the big-screen vehicle she deserves." - J.R. Jones, Chicago Reader

"By the time two hours had dragged by, I felt a lot like I had sat through a five-hour wedding." - Lou Lumenick, New York Post

"There are new tweeners every year. To them, the characters and plot devices in this perfectly competent film might well seem fresh." - Neil Genzlinger, New York Times
"Prom" is pure bubble gum, from its shiny wrapping to its mushy insides to its fleeting aftertaste. And sometimes, there's nothing wrong with chewing bubble gum." - Tom Horgen, Minneapolis Star Tribune
"She's a conformist overachiever, he's a troubled soul; a third-grader could tell that the two will fall hard for each other by the movie's halfway point." - Sandie Angulo Chen
"Given its flatly descriptive title and live-action Disney pedigree, Prom is more nuanced and less cynical -- but also just as corny and cliched -- as you might expect." - rottentomatoes.com
"Except for a couple of nice touches, "Prom" is a remedial class in cliches." - Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post
"You certainly don't expect a Disney live-action movie to be ambitious or edgy, but you don't necessarily expect this degree of sloppiness either." - Andrew O'Hehir, salon.com
"Less engrossing than a Clearasil commercial and more synthetic than a Rebecca Black video." - Nel Minow, Chicago Sun-Times
"Prom" is so strenuously inoffensive it makes Disney's "High School Musical" look almost racy by comparison." - Lou Lumenick, New York Post
"By and large "Prom" is exactly what the prom-haters in the cast say it is, a lot of build-up for something that isn't remotely as "special" as those obsessed with it wish it to be." - Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel
"Nussbaum's crew works hard to maintain a fresh-scrubbed look to the school, its students and the small community that contains it. They succeed all too well. Couldn't there have been at least one wall with graffiti?" - Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter
