"If you're looking for a romance with 100 percent prime beefcake? Get your singles out and ready, ladies. "Magic Mike" is in the house." - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger

"Soderbergh has created a spicy yet lucid, surgingly high-energy yet smartly modernistic musical." - Richard Brody, New Yorker

"It's one of the year's best surprises, and so is its frequently underrated star." Rafer Guzman, Newsday

"At the very least, it is exceptional and one of the best and most original pictures to come along in 2012." - Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle

"A weirdly guilty pleasure." - Stephen Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer

"Magic Mike has a conventional structure, yet a teasing question percolates beneath: If selling yourself is as much fun as this movie makes it look, what could be wrong with it?" - Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

"The dance numbers, choreographed by Allison Faulk, are inventive and athletic, but not really erotic; Soderbergh never lets you forget that, for these men, dancing is above all a job." - Ben Sachs, Chicago Reader

"If filmmaker Soderbergh had paid as much attention to relationship dynamics as he does to dance number mechanics, this film would have gotten closer to living up to the magic in its name." - Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times

"97 minutes of nonstop joy." - Richard Corliss, Time Magazine

"The animation remains impressive, and there are some very funny moments, courtesy of the talented cast. But fans of the original will want to lower their expectations." - Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News

"The animation is as eye-popping as ever, but Happy Feet Two's narrative is too noisily incoherent to recapture the Oscar-winning charm of its predecessor." - rottentomatoes.com

"Happy Feet was one of the greatest and most original animated films, but the sequel can't even decide what it's about for the first 40 minutes." - Kyle Smith, New York Post

"The gotta-move protagonist of the first animated, Antarctica-set feature -- a misfit young Emperor penguin named Mumble -- returns for the sequel. Only this time he's all grown up... and a lot less fun." - Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post

"For all the noise and flapping, the movie, like its heroes, remains flightless." - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger

"If it weren't for the comic relief provided by Will and Bill, tiny shrimplike crustaceans known as krill and voiced by Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, this would be a forbidding return to Antarctica indeed." - Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune

"Horrible Bosses takes a dark premise -- three buddies band together to off their bosses -- and rings it for a solid, steady stream of laughs." - Adam Graham, Detroit News

""Horrible Bosses" is funny enough to give America's embattled working folk an outlet for their frustration, and America's employer classes a bad case of nerves." - Roger Moore, Orlando Sentinel

"There's an underlying, nearly universal relatability to "Horrible Bosses" that can't be denied and that screenwriters Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein use to great advantage." - Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post

"It's nasty, uneven, and far from original, but thanks to a smartly assembled cast that makes the most of a solid premise, Horrible Bosses works." - rottentomatoes.com

"For something like Horrible Bosses to sparkle, the actors have to shine... and shine they do." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews

"Here's a hit-and-miss farce that leaves you wishing it was funnier than it is. Why? Because it wussies out on a sharp premise. Because it wastes a killer cast that's ready to rock it. " - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

"If you're bright enough to count your change at the popcorn stand, you're too smart to see "Horrible Bosses." - Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star Tribune

"It's a film that's wildly, brazenly stupid -- but also, you know, fun." - Christy Lemire, Associated Press

Movie Info

For Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day), the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers... permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. -- (C) Warner Bros

Green Lantern (2011)

Hazel's

Rating: 2.5/5
Review: Though the effects were spectacular, the story, the acting were lacking. I had questions running through my mind like, "Why was it so easy for Hal to kill Parallax?" (The rest of the Green Lantern Corps couldn't and struggled so hard). "How come not one of the thousands of Lanterns tried to help save planet earth?" (They're the bad guys after all). Though I can relate to poor Dr. Hector Hammond, "I know what you're going through. You are not alone..."

"The only reason you go to see a movie like this is the special effects and the fight scenes, right? It has both in spades and the 3D effects are good, too." - Robert Roten, Laramie Movie Scope

"Noisy, overproduced, and thinly written, Green Lantern squanders an impressive budget and decades of comics mythology." - rottentomatoes.com

"The result makes the movie seem assembled from bits and pieces of other superhero yarns rather than existing on a plane of its own." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews

"It's almost as if no one cared to try hard enough to tell a coherent and engaging story." - Laremy Legel, film.com

"A film that's all set-up and no pay-off: an origin story for a hero we don't much care for with an elaborate lore we have zero interest in, toplined by a star who's little more than a torso and a smirk." - Mark Samuels, Total Film

"Another comic-book hero hits the screen... and doesn't make a big enough splash" - Robert Denerstein, Movie Habit

"As a disjointed rumble in the cosmos, it's both too much and too little, and too dorky looking. In this case, Green means stop." - Tom Long, Detroit News

"A parlor game could be made out of how many times the word "fear" is uttered in Martin Campbell's superhero franchise non-starter." - Brett Michel, Boston Phoenix

"Some things are better shrugged off." - Keith Uhlich, Reverse Shot

Review: Throughout the movie, I kept on guessing who the wolf could be, but in the end, realized all my guesses were wrong... totally someone you wouldn't expect! This movie is an interesting take on one of our beloved fairy tales (though I found the plot cliche especially the ending). The director, Catherine Hardwicke, also directed Twilight. I asked my boyfriend Joey which one he liked better, Red Riding Hood or Twilight. His answer is "Red Riding Hood" and with that reply, I also agree =)

"Red Riding Hood is pretty decent, considering it's, you know, Red Riding Hood." - Tom Long, Detroit News

"If you're a Twilight fan, you may feel as though you've already seen this. And if you're not, well, why would you be interested in something like this at all?" - Stephen Whitty, Newark Star-Ledger

"If, by chance, you've missed "Twilight" and its sequels, don't worry. Shiny, moody, moon-faced and dumb, "Red Riding Hood" pretty much replicates the experience entirely." - Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic

"Red Riding Hood does trot out the classic what-big-eyes-you-have routine. It's a pretty amusing moment, and it makes you wish the rest of the film had that same sort of knowing sense of humor." - Christy Lemire, Associated Press

"Amanda Seyfried is magnetic in Red Riding Hood's starring role, but she's let down by her uninspired leading men and a painfully cliched script." - rottentomatoes.com

"Poor Amanda Seyfried. One of today's most lively and expressive young actresses, she finds herself stuck between two lifeless pieces of wood." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews

"Red Riding Hood" is entertainment for the village idiot." - Colin Covert, Minneapolis Star Tribune

Movie Info

Genre: Mystery & Suspense, Drama

Synopsis: "The battle against the Devil, which is the principal task of Saint Michael the Archangel, is still being fought today, because the Devil is still alive and active in the world." -Pope John Paul II "The Rite" is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the Devil's reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth. Inspired by true events, the film follows seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who is sent to study exorcism at the Vatican in spite of his own doubts about the controversial practice and even his own faith. Wearing his deep skepticism like armor, Michael challenges his superiors to look to psychiatry, rather than demons, in treating the possessed. Only when he's sent to apprentice with the unorthodox Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins)--a legendary priest who has performed thousands of exorcisms--does Michael's armor begin to fall. As he is drawn into a troubling case that seems to transcend even Father Lucas's skill, he begins to glimpse a phenomenon science can't explain or control...and an evil so violent and terrifying that it forces him to question everything he believes. Directed by Mikael Håfström ("1408"), "The Rite" stars Oscar (R) winner Anthony Hopkins ("Silence of the Lambs"), Colin O'Donoghue in his feature film debut, Alice Braga ("Predators"), Toby Jones ("Frost/Nixon"), with Ciarán Hinds ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2"), and Rutger Hauer ("Batman Begins," "Blade Runner"). Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose") produced the film under their Contrafilm banner. The screenplay is by Michael Petroni ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"), suggested by the book by Matt Baglio. "Eastwood continues to churn out one unique, challenging film after another." - Richard Roeper.com

"The film is a deeply compassionate, decidedly secular and somewhat plodding meditation on what matters now and what lies beyond this life." - Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post

"It's safe to say that, as a director, Clint Eastwood shows no fear." - James Berardinelli, ReelViews

"Hereafter makes no grand statement about life after death. It's just Eastwood pondering the subject, as any thoughtful person might, and inviting us to think along with him. It's hard to pass up so sincere an offer." - Peter Howell, Toronto Star

"Though I found Hereafter meandering and occasionally sentimental, I couldn't help but admire Clint Eastwood's ambition in taking on-headfirst-the greatest fact of human existence." - Dana Stevens, Slate
